If Pickup's review finds that you or your party caused damage beyond normal wear and tear, you may be responsible for the cost of putting it right. This page explains what to expect.

Before you pay anything

  • You will be told about the claim in the app.
  • You will see the evidence and the amount the operator is seeking.
  • You will have the chance to respond before an outcome is reached. Nothing is taken until you accept, or until a person in our team decides.

If the claim is upheld

Pickup shares the outcome, the amount due and the reasons. Once you accept a claim, or it is decided against you and any review is finished, you pay in the app by card or bank transfer, up to ₦500,000 for any one booking. Anything above that is a matter between you and the operator, and we give you both the record. See clause 22 of the Guest Terms.

Payments go through Pickup, never in cash to a chauffeur, captain or crew member.

Paying safely

  1. Pay only through the Pickup app, from Profile > Help > Your cases.
  2. Never pay an operator directly for damage, in cash or by transfer.
  3. Keep your receipt. It appears with your booking.

If anyone asks you to pay outside the app, decline and contact support.

Insurance

Pickup Charter is a booking platform. It does not sell insurance. Every operator holds its own commercial cover, and you can ask the operator for its policy details before your trip. See Insurance Information.

You may have personal insurance or a card benefit of your own. Check with your provider.

If you disagree

You can dispute the claim, and ask for a review of the outcome. See How to dispute a damage claim.
