A crewed boat or yacht listing depends on a current inspection, valid permits and the right safety equipment on board for every trip.
Surveys
Each vessel needs a current seaworthiness or inspection certificate. Pickup tracks the expiry date. If it lapses, the listing is paused and its upcoming bookings are cancelled until the renewed certificate is uploaded and checked.
- Schedule your survey ahead of expiry.
- Fix any items the surveyor raises.
- Upload the new certificate as soon as you have it, under Licence and documents.
Permits
Keep your LASWA licence or permit and your NIWA registration current, and your NIMASA licence where it applies. A lapsed permit pauses the listing it is on.
Safety equipment
The approved capacity and Safety kit you declared appear on your listing. Keep them true for every trip.
- Life jackets for every person on board, worn at all times.
- The equipment your permit and survey require.
- Never carry more people than the approved capacity. Infants count toward the limit.
Your captain checks the equipment and gives the safety briefing before guests leave the jetty.
Daylight only
Boat trips run in daylight only, and operators cannot switch this off. Plan trips, maintenance runs and repositioning inside daylight.
Captains and crew
Keep captain and crew certificates current in their own login. Expired papers mean that person cannot be assigned to new trips. See Keeping documents current.
Out of service
If a vessel needs repairs or is laid up, block its dates in the calendar so guests cannot book it. See Blocking dates for maintenance.
If the survey or equipment changes what the vessel can do, update the listing. See Listing crewed boats and yachts.
