Content Policy
The rules for everything people post on Pickup, including reviews, review replies, messages, listings and photos, and how we moderate content and handle appeals.
Updated 2 November 2026 · 9 min read
Version 3.0. Effective 2 November 2026.
In short
This plain language summary is for convenience only. The numbered clauses below govern.
- Content on Pickup must be honest, relevant to the trip, and respectful.
- Listings must show the real Vehicle, Vessel or Aircraft and only what the operator's licences allow.
- No hate, harassment, threats, explicit material, private information, spam, or attempts to take bookings off Pickup.
- Only post content you have the right to share. You are responsible for what you post, and you cover Pickup's costs if it breaks the law or this policy.
- Pickup is not the author of listings, reviews or messages.
- Report anything that breaks the rules. A person reviews it and we remove it if it does. You can ask for a review of our decision.
1. About this policy
1.1 This Content Policy ("Policy") is issued by Pickup Technology Limited, RC 9548096, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State, Nigeria, trading as Pickup Charter ("Pickup", "we", "us").
1.2 It forms part of the Terms of Use, the Guest Terms and the Operator Agreement, and sits alongside the Reviews & Ratings Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy and the Intellectual Property policy. Words with capital letters have the meaning given in the Guest Terms and Operator Agreement.
1.3 "Content" means anything a user submits to the Platform: reviews and ratings, including reviews of Guests, replies to reviews, messages, Listings, descriptions, photos, videos, profile details and reports.
2. What we expect of all Content
2.1 Content must be:
(a) honest: based on your own experience and true to the best of your knowledge;
(b) relevant: about the trip, the Listing or the service; and
(c) respectful: written as you would speak to someone face to face.
3. Listings
3.1 An Operator's Listing must:
(a) show the actual Vehicle, Vessel or Aircraft that will be provided, in photos that are recent and not edited, generated or enhanced to mislead;
(b) describe only services the Operator's licences, permits and certificates allow, and for cars only chauffeur driven services;
(c) state the certified capacity accurately;
(d) state what is included and what costs extra accurately, without placeholder text, and show prices only through the Platform's pricing tools, so the price a Guest sees is the all in price;
(e) not contain contact details, links or payment instructions that would take a booking or payment off the Platform (see the Off Platform Booking Policy); and
(f) not offer anything Pickup does not allow, including night boat trips, police escorts or armed security.
3.2 Listings must not claim insurance cover amounts, safety guarantees, endorsements, awards, licences or affiliations that are not true, and must not describe Pickup verification or Charter Elite status as a guarantee.
3.3 We use automated tools to check listings, for example to label photos, flag quality issues or a plate or person in shot, and spot duplicate plates and registrations. A photo flag is advice to the Operator. A tool never removes a Listing on its own: a duplicate match holds the Listing for review by a person.
4. Reviews and replies
4.1 Reviews and replies must follow the Reviews & Ratings Policy. A reply to a review must be factual and polite, must not reveal a Guest's personal information, and must not threaten or pressure the reviewer.
4.2 Nobody may offer or accept anything in exchange for a review, write a review of their own service, or ask someone to change a review.
5. Prohibited Content
5.1 Nobody may post Content that:
(a) is discriminatory or refers to a protected characteristic in a demeaning way (see the Nondiscrimination Policy);
(b) harasses, bullies, threatens or encourages violence;
(c) is sexually explicit, sexualises anyone, or shows or concerns a child in any sexual or exploitative way;
(d) shares someone else's personal information, such as a phone number, address, live location or identity document, without their permission;
(e) is false, misleading or defamatory;
(f) promotes illegal activity, weapons or drugs;
(g) is spam, advertising unrelated to the trip, or contains malicious links or code;
(h) infringes someone's copyright, trade mark or other rights;
(i) tries to move a booking, payment or contact off the Platform; or
(j) impersonates a person or organisation, or uses an image or recording of a real person made or altered to deceive.
5.2 Content that suggests a child is at risk, or that anyone is being trafficked or held against their will, is reported to the competent authorities, as our Modern Slavery Statement describes.
6. Your rights in Content
6.1 You keep ownership of Content you submit. You confirm (warrant) that it is honest and accurate to the best of your knowledge, that you own it or have permission to share it, that people who appear in your photos or videos have agreed to be shown, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights, break the law or break this Policy.
6.2 You give Pickup the licence to use Content set out in the Intellectual Property policy, the Guest Terms and the Operator Agreement. This includes hosting, showing, translating, adapting for display and promoting your Content in any media, to operate and promote the Platform.
6.3 To the extent the law allows, including the Copyright Act 2022, you consent to Pickup and its licensees using your Content as clause 6.2 permits without naming you as its author and in adapted form, and you agree not to assert your moral rights against Pickup or its licensees for that use. You keep ownership of your Content and the moral rights the law does not allow you to give up, and we do not change the meaning of a review or present your Content in a misleading way.
6.4 If you believe Content infringes your copyright or trade mark, use the infringement process in the Intellectual Property policy. For everything else, use clause 8.
6.5 Your indemnity. You indemnify Pickup against losses, liabilities and reasonable costs (including legal costs) arising from a claim that Content you submitted breaks the promises in clause 6.1, as the indemnity sections of the Guest Terms and the Operator Agreement set out. If you are a Consumer, this applies only to loss caused by your breach and that was reasonably foreseeable.
7. Moderation
7.1 We are not obliged to monitor Content. Pickup is not the author or publisher of Content submitted by others: Listings are written by Operators, and reviews and messages by the people who send them. We do not adopt that Content and are not responsible for it. We use a mix of automated tools and human review to find Content that may break this Policy. Automated tools may hide Content for review; a person makes every decision to remove Content or restrict an Account.
7.2 We may decline, hide, edit to remove personal information or off platform contact details, or remove Content that breaks this Policy or the law, and we may restrict or suspend an Account for serious or repeated breaches (see Account Suspension and Removal).
7.3 Where we remove Content you posted, we tell you why, unless the law prevents it or telling you would put someone at risk.
7.4 Messages. In app messages are private between the people in the conversation and Pickup support. We read them only to deliver the service, to investigate a report, a dispute or a safety or fraud concern, or where the law requires, as the Privacy Policy explains. Automated checks hide contact details and requests to pay outside the Platform in messages, and repeated attempts can open a case.
8. Reporting and appeals
8.1 Notice and takedown. Report Content using Report on the review, message or Listing, or Report this listing, or at support@pickupcharter.com. Legal complaints, such as defamation or infringement, go to legal@pickupltd.com. Each report goes through three steps:
(a) Report. Tell us what the Content is, where it is and why you think it breaks this Policy or the law. For a legal complaint, also give your name and contact details, the right you rely on, and a statement that the information in your report is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
(b) Review. A person in our team reviews it against this Policy and the law. We may hide the Content while we review it where it may cause serious harm.
(c) Remove. If it breaks the rules, we remove or restrict it and tell the person who posted it why, unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. We tell the reporter the outcome.
8.2 Our times. We acknowledge a report within 2 business days and decide it within 10 business days. Content that appears to put someone at risk of harm, shares private information or involves a child is prioritised and may be hidden at once while we review it. We remove intimate images of a person shared without their consent within 24 hours of a report, and unlawful Content within 24 hours of a lawful notice from an authorised government agency, in line with the NITDA Code of Practice for Interactive Computer Service Platforms/Internet Intermediaries. Where a law, a court order or a competent authority sets a shorter time, we meet it.
8.3 Orders and authorities. We act on a valid court order and on a lawful direction from a competent authority to remove or restrict Content, as the Law Enforcement Requests policy describes.
8.4 False reports. Do not report Content you know does not break the rules. A deliberately false or abusive report may itself breach this Policy, and in some cases the law.
8.5 Appeals. If we remove your Content, or decide not to remove Content you reported, and you disagree, ask for a review within 30 days through support. A person who was not involved in the first decision decides it within 14 days and gives you reasons. If you are still not satisfied, you may use Dispute Resolution and the dispute process in the terms that apply to you, and you may go to court.
9. Changes, law and contact
9.1 We may update this Policy. We give at least 30 days' notice of a material change in the app or by email, except that a change needed for legal or safety reasons may take effect immediately.
9.2 This Policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
9.3 Contact: in app support, or support@pickupcharter.com. Legal complaints: legal@pickupltd.com.
