Every price on Pickup already includes Pickup's service fee and VAT, so the price you see on the listing is the total for your trip details. The fee pays for the platform: verification, secure payments, trip tracking, in app support and dispute resolution.
How it works
- It is part of the total you see, and it is shown as Service fee in Price details at checkout and on your receipt.
- The total, including the service fee, is shown before you confirm, and the price at checkout matches the listing price for the same trip details.
- There is no surge pricing, on the fee or on the trip.
Where you see it
- At checkout, tap Price details.
- You see the Trip price, the Service fee, VAT on service fee, the Road levy on car trips and the Total. Each line is an amount.
The total at checkout is the price you are charged.
Who sets the price
Operators set the price of their cars, vessels and aircraft. Pickup does not. Operators can set different rates for dates such as public holidays, but only in advance, and the price is always shown before you book. Operators pay Pickup a platform commission out of their own earnings. It is not added to your bill.
If you cancel
If you cancel before the notice window, you get everything back, including the service fee, less the card and bank processing costs the payment provider charged. Inside the notice window, you get 50% of the total price, less those costs. If the operator cancels, you get a full refund. The cancellation screen shows the exact amount before you confirm. See How to cancel a booking.
Promo codes
If you have a promo code, tap Promo code or credit at checkout, enter it and tap Apply. The discount shows before you pay.
The full rules are in the Payments Terms and Cancellation and Refund Policy.
