Operator verification guide

The documents Pickup checks before you go live: company records, chauffeur and crew checks, vessel and aircraft papers, and your own insurance.

3 min readUpdated 2 November 2026For operators

Every operator and every listing is checked before it goes live. Identity checks run through our licensed identity partner, Dojah. Our Trust and Safety team reviews the rest.

Your company

Only companies registered with CAC can list. Individuals are not onboarded.

  • CAC registration, checked by RC number
  • A director's or signatory's BVN, matched to your CAC record
  • A person verifying for the company, who becomes your Responsible Person
  • TIN certificate and number, CAC status report date and proof of operating address
  • A payout account in your registered business name
  • The signed Operator Master Agreement

Your people

Each person you send is invited to Your crew and verified before they can be assigned. They complete an identity check with a live selfie, which is biometric and needs their consent, or a manual review of two photos by trained staff.

Chauffeur driven cars, per vehicle

The app asks for:

  • Hackney permit
  • Vehicle licence
  • Roadworthiness certificate
  • Commercial insurance, hire and reward
  • Proof of ownership or lease (optional)
  • Real photos of the vehicle

You must also hold your own commercial transport and vehicle licences, and be able to provide commercial registration, your Lagos permit, tracking device data, inspection logs and the vehicle tag. Lagos rules also limit a car's age: no more than 3 years from manufacture when first listed, and no more than 10 years while listed. You are responsible for meeting these.

For every chauffeur: NIN and selfie match, FRSC driver's licence, a photo and your confirmation that they work for you. They must be 21 or over and a Nigerian citizen. The LASDRI card is optional for now.

Crewed boats and yachts, per vessel

  • LASWA licence or permit
  • NIWA registration
  • Seaworthiness or inspection certificate
  • Approved passenger capacity
  • Commercial marine insurance with passenger liability and hull cover
  • Proof of ownership or charter agreement (optional)
  • Your boarding jetty, safety kit and life jackets
  • A captain with a NIMASA certificate of competency and seafarer medical, and crew with theirs

Private jets, per aircraft

  • NCAA Air Operator's Certificate
  • Operations specifications that list the aircraft. Aircraft permitted only for private non commercial flight cannot be listed.
  • Certificate of Airworthiness
  • Certificate of Registration
  • Aircraft insurance that complies with the Montreal Convention
  • International operations approval, if you fly abroad
  • Pilots with an NCAA licence, medical and type rating, and cabin crew with an attestation

Security services

Security escorts are an extra on a listing, never a listing of their own. They come only from an NSCDC licensed guard company and are always unarmed. See Listing security services.

Insurance is a hard gate

No listing goes live without your own valid commercial insurance on file. Pickup checks the document, doesn't sell insurance and names no insurer.

Staying verified

A daily check looks at every expiry date. If a listing document expires, the listing is paused and its upcoming bookings are cancelled until you upload a valid replacement. See Keeping documents current.
